My name is Jon and I live near San Francisco, California.

I created this blog because I love to travel and am often asked for recommendations by friends. For years, I would email them to people, and those emails would get forwarded to even more people. I decided to finally capture my thoughts here so that they can be easily referenced.

I’m a big foodie so many of my posts are about where to eat. In general, I don’t care too much about awards such as Michelin stars — I treat them as useful recommendations. I much prefer to try food well reviewed by locals.
